Mechanical

Infrared inspections are effective for a variety of mechanical applications such as:

  • Motors & pumps
  • Bearings, couplings and belts
  • Heating and cooling equipment
  • Piping, plumbing and radiant heating systems
  • Product and sludge levels in tanks
Thermal imaging of mechanical equipment can significantly reduce down time and maintenance costs by revealing abnormal heat patterns and excessive temperatures of components. Issues can be assessed for severity or monitored to help make decisions regarding maintenance scheduling or repairs. With thermography it’s possible to make comparisons and evaluate performance of equipment while it is in operation. Recording data over time is also a great way to determine trends and benchmarks and track the lifespan of a component.

Furnaces & Boilers

Thermography is ideal for condition monitoring of high temperature applications such as boilers and process piping including:

  • Steam traps
  • Pipe insulation
  • Refractory inspections
  • Water/steam leaks

Infrared inspections can enable you to minimize downtime and maximizing use of scheduled maintenance time, resulting in increased productivity for any application. Monitor refractory deterioration during operation and plan effectively for repairs during scheduled shut-downs.
